Tomas was born in Dublin Ireland on 30.07.1945. He lived a very full and adventurous life.
At 18yrs he left Ireland to join a religious order and spent many years studying in Salamanca in Spain and in Rome in Italy. He was fluent in many languages. He found great fulfilment in his work in education in Mexico where he spent many years.
In 1988 Tomas moved to California where he continued his work as Pastor while completing his Doctorate at the University of Southern California in 1994.
Tomas moved on to work as a Chaplin in the Prison Service where he used his vast knowledge and education to improve conditions for prisoners who could be rehabilitated. He made such an immense contribution to the Prison Service that his theories and methods are now being implemented in many State Prisons.
Tomas also worked among the people of Lake Arrowhead for the last 20 years. It was a place he loved and was much loved in return by the congregation there.
Tomas was a beloved brother of Marie, Mairead, Patricia and Deirdre. He returned to Ireland many times to officiate at family weddings and christenings. On his most recent visit to Ireland we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood.
Tomas will be sadly missed by his sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and many relatives and friends who will always remember his wonderful spirit of fun and adventure.
Requiescat in Pace Tomas
