Susan Pietrowicz

March 22, 1929 — December 4, 2013

DiDonna Pietrowicz , Susan “Susie” Rose , 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 4th 2013. She passed peacefully in her home in Palmdale, CA from congestive heart failure. Susie was born in Schenectady, NY on March 22nd, 1929 to Nicola and Mary DiDonna. She graduated from Nott Terrace High School and shortly thereafter married Alexander Pietrowicz on Dec 31, 1946. Together they adopted two children Mary and Tommy and as a family they moved to Palmdale, CA in 1962. In addition to being a mother and wife, Susie worked as a driver’s license examiner for the State of California. She loved to go roller-skating and dancing; Susie also loved to gamble, blackjack was her favorite. Later in life, she became extremely passionate about volunteering at the gift store at her local hospital. Susie had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Alex Pietrowicz, daughter Mary Berning, sister Libera “Lee” DiPoffi, and brother Rocco “Rocky” DiDonna. Susie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Jane DiDonna of Maine, brother Albert DiDonna of New York, sister-in-law Doris DiDonna of New York, niece Lisa Smith of New York, great niece Tina DiDonna of Washington, many nieces, nephews and friends whose lives she touched deeply. Susie will be missed enormously by all that knew and loved her. Services will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Park at 1PM on Thursday, December 12th, 2013. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s, two charities Susie regularly donated to.  Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
