Paul Smith

SMITH, Paul November 21, 1921 – August 6, 2013.   Longtime Palmdale resident Paul G. Smith passed away at home at the age of 91. Paul was born in Hesperia Ca. and grew up in Pamona Ca. He was the 6 th of 7 children born to Rev. Harry T and Anna Smith.   He was proud of his service to his country in the Navy where he served aboard ship as a signalman during World War II.   He moved to Palmdale in 1946 where he worked for the Palmdale Post Office for 33 years.   Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther Elliott Smith. They have three children Lawni (Doug), Randy (Sherry), and Keny (Lynn).   He is also survived by six Grandchildren-Scott, Keri, Jill, Brian,Shamous, and Shauna, and   13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.   He loved to hunt and fish and was a lifetime member of the Fin and Feather Club.   He spent many hours fishing at his dock with family and friends.   Paul dearly loved his family, Jesus Christ, his longtime friends and his church family.   In lieu of flowers, Paul would love donations sent to his grandson's church plant at crosscitychurch.org .   A funeral service will be held at 1pm Monday, August 12, 2013 at Valley View Church of the Nazarene in Quartz Hill.   You may sign the condolence book at www.chapelofthevalleymortuary.com .   Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
