MERRICONE, Pasquale “Pat” Anthony, Born to Rose and step-father Placido Francescato May 27, 1927 in Bridgeport, PA. Pat departed on April 18, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Fran, children Stephen (Sue) Merricone, Judy (Charlie) Von Rueden, grandchildren, Christopher and Patrick Von Rueden, Bonnie Marin, Jamie and Kim Mathis, brother, Lou Francescato, sisters, Connie McAvaney , Rosemary Pacelli, 3 great-grandchildren and many loving brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Sadly, his son David passed away after a lifelong struggle with diabetes. Pat entered the US Army at the age of 18 during WW II, serving his country in Italy for 3 years. He completed his military time at Edwards Air Force Base where he met his first wife Shirley Whitelock. Pat began a successful career at Lockheed in 1951 retiring in 1984. Shirley pre-deceased Pat in 1982 after which he eventually met and married the 2nd love of his life, Fran (Reeves). She remained his loving companion in life. Together they enjoyed many wonderful adventures from golfing, motor home excursions to cruising worldwide all the while meeting and forming many amazing friendships. A consummate athlete, Pat loved to water ski, play tennis, bowl and of course, golf. Pat will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, 1755 E. Ave. R in Palmdale. Interment to follow with Military Honors at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Immediately following a celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the Lancaster Elks Lodge, 240 E. Ave. K, in Lancaster.
