In Loving Memory of Mark Thomas McQueen
Age 18, of Lancaster, Calif. who was killed in a motorcycle accident, on Monday, July 16, 2012. Mark was born September 6, 1993 in Lancaster, Calif. He graduated from Quartz Hill High School, and was attending Antelope Valley College, where he was a member of the AVC golf team. Mark worked as a Sushi Chef at the Harbour Sushi located in Palmdale, Calif., and was also a Recreation Leader with the City of Lancaster. Mark participated in many sports that he loved including weight lifting, skydiving, cliff jumping, surfing, snowboarding, wake boarding, archery, hiking, BMX, baseball, football, and skateboarding. Mark’s special accomplishments included competing on the AV College Men's Golf Team, receiving numerous awards in Pony baseball and BMX, and his special ability to connect with and relate to people from all walks of life. Mark is survived by his parents, Tom McQueen of Lake Los Angeles, and Betsy and Ken St. John of Lancaster; his sisters, Allison, Rachel, Jessica, and Laura, and his brother, Joshua. He leaves his grandparents, Mike and Gail Jacques, Tom and Mary McQueen, and Ken and Lucy St. John. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Kristi Susca and his close friends James Woodruff, Evan Christensen, Josh MacFarlane, Luke Kristo, Kyle McNulty, and Esteban Perez, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He touched the lives of so many and he will be deeply missed. Viewing will be held from 12 noon to 2pm, with a funeral service at 2pm, continuing with viewing until 6pm, both on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, 1755 E. Ave R, Palmdale, Calif. Reception is to follow the funeral service beginning at 4pm, at the Palmdale Oasis Park and Recreation Center, 3850 East Ave S, Palmdale, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent in Mark McQueen's memory to the Antelope Valley College Foundation.
