Marilyn "Jean" Lodovici
68, of Palmdale, Calif., passed away on May 28, 2013 peacefully in her sleep. Jean was born in Los Angeles, Calif. to Chet and Sarah Kastner on July 10, 1944. She attended Grover Cleveland High School, then acquired her BS degree from Cal State University Northridge, and an MS degree from Chapman University. Jean spent her career as a teacher/instructor with Lancaster School District, and at Antelope Valley College. She enjoyed arts, gardening, volunteering at the J. Paul Getty Museum, in Los Angels, Calif., and driving fast in her blue Corvette. Jean is survived by her husband, Dennis Lodovici of Palmdale, Calif., her adored children, Victoria Griffiths of Wrightwood, Calif., Katherine Wurfel and her husband Brian of Milan, Italy, Michael Lodovici of Tehachapi, Calif., and Nick Lodovici and his wife Jenny of Palmdale, Calif., three grandchildren Jake Griffiths, Jenna Griffiths, and Everly Lodovici, and brother, John Kastner and his wife Debbie of Tehachapi, Calif., her niece and nephew, John Kastner, and Kristine Garnett and her husband Jeff, and great-niece and nephew, Zachary, and Lauren. A rosary service will be at 10am, following a memorial mass at 11am on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, both to be held at Father Serra Parish on 60th St. West in Quartz Hill, Calif. Officiating the mass will be, Abbott Francis Benedict, of St. Andrews Abbey. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to City of Hope ( www.cityofhope.org ) in the name of, Jean Lodovici. The family would like to thank Dr. Sudan, along with his staff at the City of Hope, and Companion Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they gave Jean.
