Grant Barnard

BARNARD Jr., Grant Whitney, Born September 20, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN.  Passed  away July 22, 2011 peacefully at his home in Palmdale, Calif.  He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (Yvonne) Barnard, brother, Clifford Barnard, grandchildren, Gary Barnard, Toni Barnard Lavaeddin (Steve), Clifton Hanley, Caterina Hanley Butterworth, great-granddaughters, Elena, Zoe, Luna, and Kila,  step-children, Craig Lewis (Leslie), Lori Lewis Johnson (Jerry Jr.), step grandchildren, Shayla Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Former daughter-in-law, Barbara Barnard Patterson (Jerry), and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Barnard was preceded in death by 3 children, Gary Barnard, Christie Barnard Hanley, and Grady Barnard.  Grant proudly served his country in the US Navy Pacific Fleet during WW II.  He was a retired Steam Locomotive Engineer.  He was Past Exaulted Ruler of the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379 in 1987-88, an Associate Member of Lancaster Elks Lodge #1625,   Life member of VFW Post 6110 Canyon Country, Palmdale Sheriff Boosters, Palmdale Chamber of Commerce and the NRA.  Memorial services will be held at 11am, Sat. Aug. 6, 2011 at the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379, 17766 Sierra Hwy., Canyon Country, Ca.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to: Hoffman Hospice, 655 W.
