WOODMAN-COLE (VAN SALTER) KLEMPNER), Gladys born May 1, 1924, pased away March 15, 2015.  Gladys was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Palmdale in 1955.  She has lived in Palmdale since then.  She was an Interior Design Specialist and worked at the Galleria (Lancaster)for 20 years.  She was a very classy lady with a unique talent for interior decoration, and equally talented as am entertainer and hostess.  her social events were not to be missed.  She was an active member of the Antelope Valley Country Club where she would golf and swim, and she also loved to snow ski.  She was also involved in several community organizations, including the Assistance League of the Antelope Valley and Thrift Shop, Society of Experimental Test Pilots Wives, Alfa Charter Guild of the Antelope Valley Hospital, March 1 Club (Gladys actually traveled at the speed of sound in an F104), the Palmdale Republican Women's Group, and many more.  She is preceded in death by her husband and father of her 3 children Marvin (Whitney) Van Salter (1959) a GE Test Pilot; Jack Woodman, her second husband (1987) a Lockheed Test Pilot; Sarah (Sally) Tolliver (Van Salter) (2012) daughter, and Leslie Joe (Petie) Dorff-Edwards Van Salter) (2014) daughter.  Gladys is survived by her husband Frank E. cole, son Robert Scott Van Salter and his wife Anne Potter Van Salter, and two grandchildren.  A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Antelope Valley Country Club 39800 Country Club Dr., Palmdale, CA 93551 at 1:00PM.  In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to the Assistance League of Antelope Valley.  Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
