Gerald “Jerry” Ray, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2013 in his Palmdale CA home. Jerry was born October 9, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Jules “Jay” and Libbie Ray. He is survived by his best friend and love of his life of 43 years, Arlyne, who was faithfully by his side at his time of death. He is also survived by his children: David Ray of Port Orchard WA, Cindy Langstrom of Glendale AZ, and Melody Hill of Tulsa OK. Many have the honor of calling him dad and grandpa. Through his marriage to Arlyne, he became a father to Ron, Dawn, Mike, Robin, Steve, Robert, Tammy and Mark. Also Grandfather to Daniel, Joshua, Brianna, Jordan, Jessica, Matthew, Ashlynn, Caitlyn, Jennifer, Therese, Sandee, Holly, Kyle, Amanda, Jonathan, Steve Jr., Tina, Tim, Joshua, Kyndall, TJ, Kayla, Danielle and Diego, as well as 15 great-grandchildren. Jerry and Arlyne made their winter home for the past 10+ years in the Yuma Foothills of AZ where he worked as an RV instructor for RV Driving School. He previously worked at Lockheed as a supervisor and Antelope Valley Bus Company as a tour bus driver. Traveling to various Thousand Trails campsites and making new friends topped his list of favorites. A private memorial and celebration of Jerry’s life will be held Friday, April 19.
