Elva Fessenden

FESSENDEN, Elva Lois, 96, died on June 17, 2014 in Palmdale, California. Lois was born on January 24, 1918 in Long Beach, California. Lois was an independent business owner most of her life with her husband George. They owned and operated the Desert View Superette for 25 years. Lois was a member of the AVCC Women’s Golf Association and past Ladies Club Golf Champion; she was a member of the Fin & Feather Club, past president of Lancaster Rotaryanns, member of the Palmdale Woman’s Club and Palmdale United Methodist Church. Lois is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Fessenden Weldon, grandchildren James and wife Ann, John, Jak, Jeff and wife Val, Elizabeth, Jason and wife Sarah, Eric and wife Teresa, Melissa, Trish and husband Frank, Julia, Rosanne and husband Joe and Brent and wife Sam, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, sons James and George II and brother Ray Smith. Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary on Thursday, June 19th from 3:00 – 7:00PM. Services will be held at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster on Friday, June 20th at 10:00 AM. Donation maybe made in her name to ProCare Hospice.  Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
