Debra MacDonald

January 20, 1952 — July 6, 2018

Debbie was born in Caldwell, Idaho to parents Eva and George Stone on January 20, 1952.  Being the youngest girl and second youngest of five children, there was no shortage of love in her family.  When Debbie was 2 years old, her father decided to switch occupations from a dairy farmer and they moved to Palmdale where he took a job at Lockheed Martin.  After 3 years, the project he was on scaled down, so the entire family made the move to Neosho, Missouri because her father took a position with McDonnel-Douglass.  After a few good tornadoes, the family ventured back to Palmdale, where they stayed.  Debbie went to Manzanita Elementary, Sage Middle School, and Palmdale High School, where she graduated in Class of 1970.    On June 28, 1972, she gave birth to her beloved son, Josh.  Josh immediately became her whole world and in 1976, they picked up and moved to Colorado Springs.  She worked for several years at Bank of Colorado in Colorado Springs, where she had a repeat customer named Kevin, who soon became the love of her life.  In early 1982, Debbie, Kevin, and Josh moved back to Palmdale, where they stayed the remainder of their lives.  Debbie and Kevin were married on August 8, 1982.  On August 1, 1985 their daughter, Samantha, was born.  A few years after Samantha was born, they decided to open their own business called Cascade Construction Company, which was successful for 30 years.  The family lived their lives in joyous love.  Through trials and tribulations, they always stuck together.  On November 18, 1993, Josh had a son named Cory.  Debbie and Kevin were ecstatic about their first grandson, and loved and cherished him.    On November 4, 2011, Kevin very unexpectedly experienced a fatal heart attack.  Leaving his wife, children, and grandson behind, his family was devastated. However, Debbie was a very strong woman who always powered through terrible life circumstances.  In July 2013, Samantha got married, and Debbie was able to fill Kevin’s shoes by walking her down the aisle.  On May 5, 2014 Samantha gave birth to her first son, and Debbie’s second grandson.    In April 2016, Debbie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer.  She underwent surgery, intensive chemotherapy, and radiation.  Towards the end of her treatment, Samantha gave birth to her second son, Debbie’s third grandson.  Debbie loved her children and grandchildren so much.  She truly lived for them and spent every selfless moment devoted to them.  She was able to be present when Josh married the love of his life on December 31, 2017.  In March 2018, they found a tumor in her small intestine, and upon trying to remove it, doctors discovered they were unable to because the cancer had metastasized throughout her abdomen.  She continued to fight until the end when she became too tired.  On the morning of July 6, 2018, she went to be with her husband and God in Heaven.  Debbie’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by her children: Joshua Breslin (46) and Samantha Escamilla (32); daughter-in-law Christine Breslin (44) and son-in-law Steven Escamilla (32); grandchildren: Cory Gipson (24), Logan Escamilla (4), and Mason Escamilla (1); siblings: Bradley Stone and Connie Stone, and a host of other family members.  Heaven has gained another angel and she will forever look down upon us.
