Challis Maddox

MADDOX, Challis Lee  Born December 15, 1922 to Morris and Lottie Davis of Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord on March 10, 2013.  Challis met and married Paul Maddox on May 14, 1941, and had daughter, Sandra in 1943. In 1945 the family moved to California and following her son, Clifford in 1947. Challis lived in the Antelope Valley for 68 years. Challis loved people, and helped to form the Dafy Girls, and Senior Saints at Central Christian Church. Her hobbies included a love of traveling with Paul, and the Joshua Scampers. Her most recent trip was to Yellowstone National Park, this past July. Challis is survived by her children, Sandra (Mike) Hanlon of Palmdale, and son, Clifford Maddox of Hollywood. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. Challis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul in 1990. Challis will be remembered for her heartfelt friendship and devotion to her family and friends. Have a happy forever with Grandma and Grandpa, you and daddy live and love again together, we miss you so much. A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm, on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Palmdale.
