Carolyn Mitchell

Carolyn Ruth (Thompson) Mitchell passed away on October 10, 2016 at Antelope Valley Hospital surrounded by family after a long battle with multiple Myeloma.   Carolyn was born April 18, 1935 to Winfield and Francis Thompson in Glendale California.  She met and married Adrian C. Mitchell after a whirlwind 10 day courtship.  Their 59 year romance produced 2 children Sam Stover, her husband Lindsey and Kevin Mitchell, his wife Rhonda, 8 Grandchildren Brandon Mitchell, Sammy Rosenfeld, his significant other Sarah Sewell, Broc Mitchell, Jesi Rosenfeld, her significant other Derek Benton, Stephenie Benjamin, her husband Gary Benjamin, and 2 Great-Grandchildren Arbor Lynn Rosenfeld and unborn Adwen Mae Benjamin.   After 22 years Carolyn retired from Lancaster School District, Monte Vista School where she was Head Secretary.  While attending Burbank High she acquired her love for music and had the honor of being First Chair Violinist for the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra. She participated in Gymkhana and English riding events where she was presented many awards.  After retirement she and AC traveled the United States in their motorhome and spent one summer traveling Alaska.  You could always find her enjoying her family, ushering everyone to the latest museum or fine arts opening, laying in the back of a pick-up truck in the Mojave Desert watching meteor showers, camping at Smokey Bear Flats, or fishing in the Sierras.
