Billy Godwin

GODWIN, Billy Ray born September 21, 1937 in Wichita Falls, TX. Rode to the top of the highest hill into the arms of the Lord June 11, 2015 in Palmdale, CA. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he was employed by Lockheed for 33 years as a Flight Test Mechanic. Bill worked on many projects, including the L10-11, the U2, the SR71 and Skunkworks projects. On Sundays “Wild Bill” could be found in the deserts and mountains riding his dirt bike. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 40 years, Barbara, his cat, Charlie, step-daughter, Julie, “Best Buddy” and step-son-in-law, Jeff, two children from a previous marriage, Dale Godwin and Terri Kennedy (Steve), sisters, Barbara, Laura (Joe), Mary, sister-in-law, Joyce, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We love you and miss you always. A funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, June 22, 2015 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary in Palmdale with interment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park also in Palmdale.  Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
