Beverly Foster

April 24, 1932 — January 4, 2015

FOSTER (CUNNINGHAM), Beverly Mae died in Dublin, Ohio on January 4, 2015 at the age of 82. A devout Christian and very independent, Beverly placed a high value on service to others, education and world travel. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Palmdale and later of Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church. She was involved in many church and social committees and was a fifty year member of the Palmdale Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron and later as Deputy Grand Matron. Active in the community, she loved volunteering at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and often hosted luncheons. She enjoyed health, fitness, and learning new things. She received a Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders from California State University at Long Beach, going on to work as both an Aphasia Teacher and a Speech and Language Specialist. Her teaching career began with Garden Grove School District and ended with her retirement from the Palmdale School District. Adventurous at heart, Beverly travelled around the globe, often times with her mother Carrie Henrich and friend Carolyn Harrison as well as Elder Hostel and her church. Beverly is survived by her daughter Lori Butler and son Michael Foster and his wife Mary. Also surviving her are grandchildren Ryan Gilbert, Katie, Elizabeth and Abigail Butler; her sister and brother in law, Sharon and Jim Chormicle and their children; Darren Chormicle and Lisa Hester. Mother Carrie Henrich and nephew Brian Chormicle precede Beverly in death. A service will be held at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary: 1755 E. Ave. R. Palmdale, California 93550 on Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 PM with graveside services following at Desert Lawn Memorial Park: 2200 East Avenue S, Palmdale, CA 93550. In lieu of flowers, Beverly asked that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse: P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000 or Interserve: PO Box 418, Upper Darby, PA 19082-0418.  Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, Palmdale Directors.
